We started at the bottom. Composers before we were publishers. It is a sentence you read everywhere, so let us say what it means here: we know what it is to send a composition and wait for an answer that never comes. Not to understand a contract you are asked to sign quickly. Not to know who to ask. We did not build a house to fix the industry; we built one where those things do not happen.

Everything else comes from that. Publishing and composition are our centre of gravity, and the rest attaches to them: production, artistic direction, synchronisation. We do not practise many crafts, we practise one craft in several forms.

There are six of us today: the two founders and four composers. We work from Lille, with artists and partners who are somewhere else.

What we look for in an artist has little to do with their numbers. We look for someone who knows what they want to say, even clumsily, and who is willing to start again. The rest, we know how to build.

The name comes from a Latin word, follis, the bellows, the skin swollen with air. The madman, at the beginning, is the one whose head is full of wind. We made a craft of it.
